There are several things that I find very interesting and unique about my life. I am a very talented, cheerful, humorous, helpful, and loving young lady. I love to have fun with those around me and I love to help others in there time of need. Everyone’s typical story is that they have been through a fair amount of things in life which is true which is also why I choose not to paint that picture that my life has been something hard to deal with. So far, the life that I have lived I can look back and say that I love every aspect of it; the good and the bad.
Along with the good and the bad things that have happened in my life, I have chosen to go into the communication field. I chose to go into this field for several reasons. I enjoy doing speeches, talking to people that I know and sometimes don’t know, and I also see this as something broad. I am not only limited to ONE specific career by going into this field. Since being in this field I have noticed a change in myself. I have noticed that I am more open to others ideas, I enjoy being around people more, and so much more. Everything that I have noticed about myself thus far has made me realize that going into this field is something that I really do want to do because this field can potentially open the door to other opportunities that I may come across.
Before coming to Monmouth I rarely knew anything about this field. When I first arrived to Monmouth I thought I wanted to go into the sociology field then I later realized that that wasn’t what I wanted to pursue. After learning that psychology and communication overlapped with sociology I changed my mind and decided that communication was the place for me. I also became interested in this field because one of my family members decided to go into communication and had an internship at one of the top radio stations in Chicago which was something that I always saw myself doing. In a sense, I guess you can say she’s inspired me to pursue a career in this field.
Since I’ve been in college I haven’t really worked a lot. Although I haven’t had much work experience, I would love to be an intern at a major radio station or a television station. I would like to intern at one of the two because as of right now I’m not very sure of what career path I plan on taking just yet. Even though I’m not sure of what career path I plan on taking I do have a few career goals. A few goals I have are to possibly produce movies, videos, or television shows. I’m not sure if either one of those goals will work however I plan on working really hard to reach my goals.
So far, I am satisfied with the progress that I have been making and the things that I have been doing to reach my goals. I am confident that I will reach the goals that I have set for myself because I am passionate, persistent, and very humble. With patience and hard work any and everything is possible. Along with the few characteristics that I named I also have great leadership skills. In high school I was inducted into the National Honor Society. The main principles in the organization were leadership, scholarship, service, and character. If it is safe to say I think that being in that organization leadership and character are the two that stuck with me the most.
